Volunteers

ELEM’s volunteers are absolutely integral to every part of the organization’s functioning. As the largest volunteer organization in Israel, ELEM boasts close to 2,000 volunteers participating in activities including field work, mentoring, administrative support and fundraising.

There is a small paid staff in America. Volunteers contribute such services as clerical support, translation of written documents or simultaneous translation at meetings. ELEM’s American Board is comprised of lay and professional volunteers who contribute to ELEM by raising funds, producing events, promoting an exchange of professional knowledge between Israel and America, raising awareness of ELEM’s activities and financial advising.
