Awake at Night

("Erem Balayla") is a special program for the prevention of commercial sexual exploitation of minors, a horrific problem that plagues Israel as well as the rest of the world. Youth who are involved in prostitution have a day-center to come to where they can rest, take a shower, get a hot meal and talk to a trained professional. There is also a hotline, manned by the staff and 15 volunteers so that youth have another avenue to get help when they are in immediate need.

The project also studies the characteristics of the phenomenon of adolescent prostitution in order to establish a corpus of knowledge in the field and raise public awareness.
