Derech Hamelech - King’s Way

This program serves to assist teens in returning to a normative lifestyle through occupational training and work placement. The teens have the opportunity to work at one of the fifteen Spagetim restaurants nationwide, or work alongside Volcani Institute scientists growing and selling organic vegetables.

The program helps to raise self-esteem, develop and improve life skills, develop creativity, and encourage independent thinking and initiatives among its participants. The Derech Hamelech project often works in conjunction with "Life Coaches" – a joint project of ELEM and the Youth Probation Service, in which each juvenile delinquent is matched with a volunteer mentor. Last year 900 youth were treated by ELEM’s 65 mentors nationwide.
